HELP! In Long Beach (Alamitos)

My bottom diver says he can replace my cutlass bearing IN the water, but he doesn't have the tool for our boat anymore.
I am in Long Beach (Alamitos) and am willing to rent or borrow one if anybody has one!!! I need it quickly as he only has the upcoming two weeks to do the work.

Long story short, it disintegrated/fell out. I know I will have to check the alignment again in case that was the issue or something could be bent or out of place. But, it will SAVE me $1000 if I can get it done right now in the next couple weeks by the diver.
If anybody knows where I can borrow/rent the right tool, please let me know!

Not sure what he is looking for as a tool.
If this is a new to you process, here is a video of how it is done.
I used the chill, and hammer method while on shore.
Underwater, I suspect the diver would have to use a clamp. Any large enough clamp would do. Just be sure you protect the metal parts from damage.

I know how to take it out, I've done it before, but the diver needs the real tool meant for that specific shaft and bearing

I’ve seen that tool used to get the cutlass bearing out.

it disintegrated/fell out
Your bearing is out so I thought some ways to install the bearing might be appropriate (ie the clamp).
Is there a way to hang overnight in the lift? No idea what the cost is there. In Everett it is about $350 to haul , hang and splash in the morning.

Doubtful around here. I’m trying to see if I can get this done in the next weeks under water so I can use the boat and postpone a haul out that I will do later for less money.

If the old one is already out. I don’t see why he can’t remove the prop, and slide the new one up the shaft and tap it into the strut. A large washer or plate with a hole the OD of the shaft would help tapping it into.

Found a young ambitious diver. He got the prop off but realized his shims/sleeves for the tool weren’t correct. He’s making new shims and coming back tomorrow.
