Please use great caution if you plan to work under a boat on a home-made gantry/lift of any kind! Also, I would hesitate (that means I would not do it) to put water into the hull while it is suspended. There are any number of Youtube videos of boats falling because straps slipped. You (and I ) can quickly forget how heavy that added water might be. Overload of your lift could happen too quickly. Please be careful.

fyi:

keep in mind the waterballast part of the hull is VERY thin. the centerline (keel) is strong. note how the factory trailer bunks were set up as a V. they knew where the strength was.

might be a good time to check the ballast valve and the gasket.

if not already mentioned Blue water yachts sells parts for the boat.

Hey great pics Mr. Bill that proves to me that my ideas are on the right track and also the safety point 31
Seahorse brought up is a serious thing to consider! Thanks to the both of you! I am going down under (maybe that why boats are always female?) and will let you know if I find the problems? Thanks again Sailorman66.

OK I discovered 2 areas that I believe are the issues that are causing the water to come in. Hopefully these photo's will come through. One area is on the centerboard only about an inch wide and long. The other was the bilge drain from the cockpit.
Underneath the flooring I discovered an area where water was seeping in possibly from the through way that was original being worn out at the very bottom before the outer hull opening. I believe both these contributed to the reason of the amount of water and the level of water that was present. I want to thank all the folks that posted with there advice on repairs and also with their experiences that also helps with learning the insides and outsides of your boat! I appreciate all your help out there in SailboatOwners Land.

Is it a water ballast boat? (it is now, haha, just kidding)

No really, if it is a water ballast boat make sure the previous owner did not tap into the ballast tank by accident such as when mounting a water pump for the galley or something. If you drill into the top of the ballast tank and your fill valve remains open the boat will continue to fill with water until you close the ballast fill valve or reach neutral buoancy (ie, sink).

Do Not ask me how I know that.....:stupid::clap:
