I have a Coronado 35 that I'm trying to find or build an emergency tiller for. Unfortunately, I've found that it's not the original rudder, so I've not been able to find one from other Coronado 35 owners. I've attached a picture of the rudder cap, in the hopes that someone might recognize it, and point me to where I can find an emergency tiller. Again, this is the top of my rudder shaft. The first picture is a bit back from it to show an overall picture. The dark circle with the big hole and two smaller holes is the only portion that turns. The next picture is a close-up of the inside of the larger hole. It's threaded. My guess is that pins fit down into the two smaller holes, and a bolt goes into the larger to hold the pins in place, but I'm not sure. If anyone recognizes this, I'd sure be grateful to hear what you think it's from originally.

Have you tried pulling the center
off of that cap. It could be a piece left over from the tiller. I have never seen a coupler like that.

Hadn't Thought of That
By "cover", I take it you mean removing the 4 screws, and that plate? I hadn't thought of it, and probably would have worried that I'd be letting Lake Pontchartrain into the boat. In reality, I've seen the packing gland under it, so I know it won't let the lake in, but just hadn't thought of pulling the plate. I'll do that next month when we're that way again.
