I have a seized up engine mounted, belt driven, refrigeration compressor. I believe that it is a 'flat top' compressor with the refrigeration hose valves on top.
It is a vintage 1985 unit which uses the old R-12 (I believe) refrigerant.
Once mechanic said he thought it might be a 'Tecumseh' - but I don't know if that is a manufacturer, model, or something else.
I would like to replace it with a new unit, even if the refrigerant has to be changed out, but can not determine the make, model, etc of the unit.
If anyone has any ideas of the mfg of this unit so that I could start searching for a compatible unit, I would appreciate your thoughts. Needless to say, matching the unit so that it will fit into the same mounting space (very, very, very tight) is critical.
