I saw this sailboat and was struck with how wide and flat the stern is.

Anybody know what it is?

Not sure who made the boat, however, the boat isn't worth the effort to remove it. No trailer and its a mess.

Given the very hard chines, I suspect it does not sail all that well either.

American Marine. Not sure what this one is but at one point they made a 24 and a 26. The keel sump in the cabin was recessed so you had "standing headroom" if you walked in the center of the cabin and didn't go more than 3 feet. At the Cobo Hall Boat Show (anybody else remember that?) the dealer encouraged you to jump up and down on the forward hatch to show how strong they were.

Thanks Sue! I appreciate it! I'm looking for a sailboat to convert to an slow electric cruiser. The wide flat stern would really help with initial stability. This one probably isn't worth saving though.

There is no such thing as a free boat. You will most likely end up having to cut her up and need to get her to a dump, which would be a lot more expensive than an equivalent boat in better shape, ready to sail. Sorry, but I'd keep clear of that one.
