I have what appears to be a brass fuel filter between the fuel tank and engine and would like to know if anyone can help me identify who made it and where to get filters. I haven't ever taken it apart so I can only describe the outside of it. It's round, about 6" tall, and comes apart at the middle. The top is flat has a large metal shank that helps to unscrew it from the body. The bottom has a srew on it. On the side that I can see it has the following written on it: ___________________________________________ LSTD MARINE FILTER U L 7158 ____________________________________________ The other side also has something written on it but I can't see it. Can anyone help me identify this filter and tell me where I can get replacement parts (if it's worth it). Thanks, Joe Mullee

Available, new or parts.

See the Related Link. I think it is what Charles wrote about. On my boat I found that the screen had deteriorated and clogged the fuel line. It is a very poor filter/water separator compared to a Racor. My boat has a good Racor so I gutted the Perko but left it in the line. Easier and cheaper then installing a new longer fuel line.
