Hello, Is there anyone out there that owns a 1966 or 67 O'Day Ospray 16 footer. I need to know the exact measurements of the main sail. I know that the sail must be 125 sq.ft, but I recently purchased this type of boat and I believe I have the wrong main sail. Mine measures, 18ft by 21 ft and 8 ft 6 inches on the boom. When hoisting the main sail it appears to be a foot or so too big and the boom ends up right at the entrance slot for the boom. I believe it should be located above the entrance slot this also for safety reasons and for the pulley and rope system to work properly. Currently the boom is at eye level and I have the sail all the way up. Dangerous to say the least if it strikes anyone.
