I am regular viewer of your forum, the American Vega Association Website, the adventures of Vega #1860 and owner of "Log of Mahina."
I am aware of the stock problems with the Vega.
However I am NOT comfortable with diesel engines. I posted two photos of the 8 hp Yanmar the is in this boat. It was transplanted from a 1982 Cape Dory. It was fitted with an "Aquadrive."
Does anyone have any opinion of this engine?
Ditto on the "Aquadrive."
Estimated engine time is 300-400 hours.
What should I be looking at? What top five things should I be worried about?
