Does any one know the correct name for the push lock hoes fittings Hunter is using? I accidentally broke one of the tapered plastic retaining rings that locks the poly hose into fitting. I can't find any thing at plumping store and I do not know what exactly to ask for. Admiral is not happy without running water.

hose fittings

Interesting, I've seen this problem on two other boats this season. Don't know what you call them though. I will have more info next week, because I'm waiting for some fittings. John

Qest Fittings

Doug, I hear them referred to as "QEST" Fittings. Our local hardwares carry them. I pasted a link for you to start.

Whale makes it, British company....

west marine use to have them. I think you need to in the internet and see what company carries Whale products...and order from them directly. Some West Marine stores may still carry left overs. Forget about going to home depot. good luck abe

Not Quest

Thanks Mike but they are not quest fittings. I went through and searched WM and Defender E-catalog and found nothing similar.

Have you called Hunter?

They will tell you and sometimes even sell/ship cheaper than you can buy elsewhere.

Generic fittings

Its called quick connect plumbing and it comes under several names; but I think they all 1/2" fittings are interchangable. I found some generic brand at Lowes or Home Depot that fit. If that doesn't work, go to an RV store. An RV product book I have calls them Qest/PEX tubing and fittings from Zurn Plumbing Products. Same product book had SeaTech

Actual namebrand is Neptune

According to the WM catelog, Neptune Compression Fittings (pg523 in '04) are "original equipment on Hatteras, Hunter, Wellcraft and SeaRay yachts." and are best if used with stiff polyethylene pipe sold under the "Flexpipe" name. And no, I don't work for or nor am I paid by West Marine! just to to your local hardware store and tell them you're fixin' you brother inlaw's house trailer!

you can use the whale fittings that wm sells, but Hunter uses 15mm hose, not 1/2". be sure you get the right size

Just came from WM last week

I had broke my shutoff valve for my water tank in my 2004 Hunter 33. WM carries a full line though I had to go to two different WM stores to find the part. They are also in the WM catalog here http://ecatalog.westmarine.com/0442z.asp The companies name is SeaTech. There is also a compatible company called Whale. I replaced my SeaTech shutoff valve with a Whale shutoff valve and it works perfectly. Rember to buy the 15mm sizes and not the 1/2". Keep in mind that if you are going to cut the tubing it is best to use the tubing cutter tool (sold separately). The ends must be perfect for the system to work. Andy
