I have a 1977 C-30 that's getting a new Yanmar 2GM20F. I've heard that this is a good replacement for the Atomic 4 that was in there. Anyway, it seems that the guys who are installing the motor are going to install it based on the prop shaft's length. If they do this, then the galley sink assembly will not fit. My question is this: Should I have them mount the motor farther forward & get a longer prop shaft? Does anybody have any advice about where to mount the motor so that there's a minimal amount of modifications needed? I was under the impression that the dinette seat was the only thing I'd need to worry about, and that I might need to install a small door to allow the motor to protrude a 1/2" or so forward of the engine compartment. Should I be ready to customize the entire galley section? The motor's due to be installed on Tuesday & if there's good advice out there, I'd like to pass it along to the mechanics before it's too late! Thanks!!!
