I am in the middle of purchasing an O'day. All the research I've done up to this point is based on it being an O'day 25'(which I was told it was). When I got to the point of actually paying for it and making the purchase final, I see the sailbags that are with the boat say "Oday 23" on them. The question I have is - When the manufacturer calls it's boat an O'day 25, how is the boat actually measured - is it LOA ("length over all", which this boat has a measurement of 24'9", or is it LWL (length of waterline)which at this time I don't know what that length is. Cam anyone hlp me or refer me to someone who can??

Yes, size matters. Get inside both of the boats. If you plan on spending rain days and weekends on and in the boat, go bigger. 2" outside makes a big differance inside. r.w.landau

rest assured it is a 25' O'Day. The actual length overall (LOA) is 24'10" as opposed to an O'Day 23 22'6". I have a 25' which unfortunately I am selling this year. It is a fantastic boat and you will enjoy it.

The HIN number will tell you. I'm doing this from memory, but I think the HIN number is comprised of the following components. First three characters - Manufacturer Next two charecters - length If I'm mistaken please don't flame me - I did a few google searches and came up blank on what the compromises entire number. But I imagine someone else here has a link stored away somewhere. Good Luck! Geof
