I think that I am moving up from a H216 to a 97 H-26WB. I need to rent a trailer to move the boat from charlotte nc to columbia, sc. Please let me know if you know of one. If I can move it, I think that I will buy the boat. I am sure that I will be asking many questions. A lot of you really helped me with the 216 I bought last year. thanks, d

I know some people here will probably disgree, but being a keel-less, water ballasted boat, it will probably fit on any reasonable powerboat trailer (ideally one with bunks, not rollers). the only thing you may want to do, is use a strap under the boat to support the centerboard, but I doubt this is even necessary.

Thanks Brian, I hope I can find one to use. I got a price from a transporter for $650.00 with me stepping and unstepping the mast. I hope someone is out there where I can rent one cheaper.

I respectfully disagree with Brian on this one.

DO NOT PUT YOUR NEW WB H260/26 ON JUST ANY TRAILER.

The boat weighs enough while being hauled down the highway that it will rub a hole/crack the hull if the weight is not distributed evenly along the hull, with bunk-to-trailer supports under the lifting strap zones on the boat. Because it doesn't have a keel to rest on, the boat and all it's gear needs to be supported appropriately even for a short haul. Don't ever let the boats weight rest on the CB ever, never ever. DO make sure The CB has a place to rest to relieve the CB uphaul line which should be loosened and re-cleated when traveling in it's padded bunk.

Trailer boats aren't the toughest boats made in order to keep the trailered weight down, so be gentle with her when she isn't in her natural element. Snug your tie downs but don't over-do. Plenty firm is good, piano string tight is bad. We love our 260 but respect her convertibility limitations while going 60mph straight upwind;)
Good luck. M&K

Do anyone know how long the trailer for the 26 is? also I know the bunks are 2x8 14 foot long. Please tell me the high of the back one and the first one. I may try to have one made. thanks again for all of you! d

D, I live in the upstate (outside of Pickens) and have a trailer for a H260 that would probably work for you. Unfortunately, I'm out of the area until the first of next month. If you haven't moved the boat by then, drop me a line and we'll try to work something out. I also agree w/ the above posts - I wouldn't put my boat on just any trailer. The keel rides about ten inches below the hull and the runners on the trailer are bent to cradle the in a fairly specific manner. Boyd Newman Boydaclies@gmail.com
