With the wheel it seems as though you don't get the responsiveness. Is there way to make sure your wheel is properly responding, in tune so to speak? Or, is it just different from the tiller and something you need to get used to? Any input would be appreciated. Play with the spokes too.

That concept is so wrong, so very wrong.

The answer to your question: use a spoke of the wheel with a feather-like touch just as you would a tiller.

Just consider that most modern racing boats have wheels when the designer could have very well installed a tiller.
