HAS ANYONE HAD THE PROBLEM OF SEVERE PULL TO ONE SIDE UNDER POWER, WHEN I LET GO OF THE WHEEL THE BOAT PULLS HARD TO THE RIGHT OR STARBOARD. MY BOAT IS A 1985 ISLANDER 34, DEEP FIN KEEL, FAR AFT RUDDER, MIDSHIP MOUNTED ENGINE WITH PROP ABOUT IN THE MIDDLE BETWEEN THE KEEL AND RUDDER ANGLED DOWN AT 12 DEGREES, ENGINE YANMAR 3GMF20, WITH A FIXED 3 BLADE PROP 16 X 9. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!

My H33 does the same thing,

and a H44DS I was on did too. The pull increases with increase in throttle.

Told to live with it

I had the same problem with my C&C 30, Yanmar 2GM20F with a Maxi-Prop. After new bottom and reconditioned prop, my boat pulled to port. I called Maxi-prop and he explained it was caused by the pressure from the flow of the water over the rudder. Really can't do much about it. A wheel brake is a good idea...works for me.
