Happy Holidays Everyone, I posted a picture in photo forum of the H260 helm after I wrapped it in a Ringbolt Hitch. Waiting for winter to be over so I can try it out. Jim S/V Java

Nice Job!

Jim, I wrapped my wheel with leather in a similiar time frame but at a much higher cost. I like your solution. You might want to do an extra wrap around the wheel or vertical spoke so you can feel for the center position of the wheel. Rich

Helm Truks Headknot

Thank you... I forgot to put in the original post that I'm going to tie a turks headknot for the amidships point. That is as soon as I can figure how to tie one.. jim

Turk's Head

Jim: In one length of line tie a CARRICK BEND. Adjust to remove the large loop formed by tying the two ends together. Find the center of the knot. Place a finger through the center. Roll the knot into a cylinder around your finger. You now have a single pass TURK'S HEAD. To double take either end and using it follow in reverse the other end. After you tie it a few times you will be able to tie it around a fixed pole. Good luckPhil Teter
