During sea trials on our new 400 (twin helms for those of you unfamiliar), I found myself constantly reaching for the non-existent binnicle guard over the compass in front of both helms. This was especially true when the seas were up and autopilot doing its thing...can't use the helm to hold on! Guards are not even offered as options on the boat but I'm going to do some research on obtaining a couple. Any 400/470 owners out there installed them and if so, where/how did you do so?
