Welcome aboard.

Be sure to include as much detail as possible with your questions and lots of pictures. You'll also get a chance to practice your English here and believe me, it is one weird language.

Maybe if we give you enough helpful answers you'll invite invite us over to Italy because the weather here on the west coast of Canada is cold and raw at this time of year :D.

Hello my port and "MARANO LAGUNARE" near Venice IMG_1830.jpg in the north of 'Adriatic sea, but when we finished refitting'll take the boat in Greece where we spend the holidays in the summer the sun is shining and it almost never rains. Now here is the winter the temperature is below zero degrees, in March the temperatures reach fifteen degrees Celsius and work on the boat will be the fastest. I hope that as I wrote you know enough ... and I hope you write to us again. hello Eleonora and Max. I send you a picture of Croatia ,where I sailed last year.

Hello Eleonora and Max, and welcome to this great site. There should be a tag or label with the manufacturer's name on that white plastic rim. If not perhaps another 35.5 owner can advise who the hatch manufacturer was and you might be able to contact them and order it. Or maybe you are very lucky and Phil or Dave here can track that info for you or even supply the part. You will need to repair the fibreglass located right behind the rubber attachment before replacing the ring. And yes I am opened to the idea of sailing with you in the Med and have you sail with me in Canada. Good luck with the boat and your projects.

ELMAX, this is all I can find on the store here, SBO.

http://shop.hunterowners.com/hp/viplex.php

You may have to shop at used sailboat parts websites to find that edge trim. There were many boats on the east coast of USA that were damaged in the Sandy hurricane, that would be a good area to start.

ciao

Stretch thanks, great idea, especially because there are many things that maybe I can not fix, watch as the kitchen, now back to work. I must say that the previous owner kept the boat evil and has neglected.

Hi ELMAX
Are you going to convert your stove to propane, or do you have compressed natural gas ?

We kept the CNG as it is available and I like it better. We do not use the oven it uses a lot of fuel.

Thanks for the pictures you send.

Here is a picture of our 35.5 in a bay called Smugglers Cove, Sunshine Coast, B.C. Canada
We stern tie to shore most of the time. The tides are up to 15 ft here. Also it is a popular bay so many people are here in the summer.

We hope to reconstruct the beautiful boat like yours, about the kitchen, we keep the propane gas, because here in Europe is difficult to find the methane cylinders, I'll still do it all the gas system, which I found broken. ... like almost everything else!
beautiful your picture, you can see that you are happy, but how many degrees does the water? You can swim? we noticed the spryhood, you can buy "shop hunterowners"? and tailor-made for the hanter 35.5? thanks and see you soon.I send you a photo of the classic small fishing harbor greek island of ThassosIMG_0868 2.jpg

Hi ELMAX, thanks
We really like our dodger, it has the extra grab bar on the back my wife likes and side grab bars, too. There are so many colours to choose from. Your sprayhood is called a dodger over here. Try that word when you search for photos or websites. I see no dodgers listed on the SBO site, so I am not sure if they make them pre made. I only found Bimini's like ours...http://shop.hunterowners.com/category.htm?cat=1702

Maybe Dave from SBO can help. They know some people. They have the parts in USA sizes for your plumbing ,too.

The sea temperature in that bay, in the picture, is very warm in summer, over 20 degrees. Desolation Sound, to the north, is very popular because the water is warm for swimming in the summer, the tides meet near there and the water warms up in many areas.
The picture I have posted here is my home port, at the end of a fjord. It is always windy here for sailing in the summer, with outflow winds after 9;30 in the morning.
