Pearson Wanderer Titusville, Florida
Hello all:

After 11 years in a wing-keel Hunter 23 (and the same amount of time in the Hunter Owners forums here at SBO) I finally gave in to two-foot-itis and purchased a Wanderer. What a great boat! I was happy to see that SBO has an active Pearson Owners group and quite a few Wanderer owners, so I know I'm in good company. Like all good old boats, mine needs work. For starters, she threw a prop blade on the way to the haul out to replace the prop shaft and cutless bearing (see pic below) and things have been piling up now that she's out of the water.

Here are my first questions...how do you get past the gas tank to the rear of the engine and the stuffing box? Has anyone relocated their gas tank to improve access to the area? If so, where? How sturdy are those fiberglass tubes for the cockpit-drain through hulls? I'm afraid to even touch them.

Looking forward to your answers and being able to return the favor on other general sailing/maintenance questions. Those of you who've been around and recognize my old signature know that I pull my weight.

Best regards,
Peter
