Heavy weather jib

As a requirement for the coming Marion-Bermuda race I am asked to add a heavy weather jib (<80%) to my sail inventory. In reality, I don’t plan to use it because I have a new 100% with foam in the luff that I can furl down if I need to. Yes, I know that it will slow me down but at that level of wind, 30+ knots, I really don’t want to change sail, particularly if it is at night. What I need is a used 70% to 80% jib that I can bring with me to fulfill the race requirement. My boat is a Beneteau 361 with dimensions: I=45 ft and J= 13.5 ft with number 6 tape in the luff. Does any body want to get rid of an old sail like that, or have suggestions of where to find one? Thanks in advance Jose

Used

You might try one of the used sail sites. You can pick up the used ones at a reasonable price, depending on the conditions. Can't hurt to have it on board, if nothing else than a backup to the roller furling.

Jose, got crew?

Jose, I am trying to get on board a boat in the race as novice crew for either the leg down or the delivery back. If you, or someone else you know, need a crew member I am a willing volunteer. I have registered with the crew database on the Marion/Bermuda race web site. I do own my own boat and have sailed in New England waters, plus the Virgin Islands and San Diego over the last three years. You can reach me at lmurray@epiphany.com. Used sail sites.

Robert is correct, you should easily find something under $500. Did you check these?: http://www.usedsails.com/ http://www.minneysyachtsurplus.com/ (Related Link) http://www.mastheadsailinggear.com/ http://www.baconsails.com/ http://www.sailors-exchange.com/index.html And don't forget E-Bay.
