Heavy duty tarps/covers

FYI for anyone looking for cheap heavy duty tarps.

Contact your local billboard company, the use a heavy PVC with scrim reinforcement to make billboard signs, they come as large as 14'x48' and if you ask nice, they can be had for free.

I picked up a couple, they were happy to see them reused over getting dumpstered.

Nice idea. No billboards in Maine though. I used the compulsory blue Marden's tarp (only a Mainer will get that reference) as material twice to make nicely tailored covers for our boat. Worked well and looked ok but rather short-lived. Then I found 30 yards of Sunbrella for a song at . . . Marden's. The fall baby's getting a new blanket.

dscribner, Should have bought it when I saw it at Marden's. That's something only a Mainer or someone from New Brunswick would understand for sure. Ya just gotta love Mardens.

I wondered who the guy was watching me the last time I was there. Missed the Sunbrella, my wife had me sorting the button bin. She made covers for the winches from the naugahyde bought there.

The only billboards left in NH are for the liquor stores soon to be political ads.
