Heater installation completed

I finally finished the heater install a couple of weeks ago. We are now living very comfortably. See the write-up and photos HERE

Awesome Job!! Great pictures, too.

Maybe I can tackle mine next year...the reverse cycle just doesn't do a good job this time of the year.

I was wondering from your post on another thread if you didn't realize that the reverse cycle wouldn't cut it in the cold ... and then got surprised! But now it's clear that you had it planned well in advance! Great job. I imagine that even in a roomy boat like yours, the installation required fitting into some tight spaces and some pretty interesting contortions.

Really nice work, Tim. This morning, I was thinking how great it is to have central heat on the boat.. It was 34F at the time.. Our bayou water stays warm enough so I can use reverse cycle.. the hot water system seems like a great solution because of the ease (OK that is a relative term) of putting in several heat sources..

I had an uncle that kept his boat in the Salt Ponds in Hampton VA and he had reverse cycle heat and ac on his boat. It seemed to work fine in the winter. How low of a water temp can it be before it effects reverse cycle ac.

I would estimate that the water here was in the low to mid 40s when I stopped using it a few weeks ago. It could still get the boat to 65 as long as the outside temp was at least 25 but it ran constantly. A few nights when it was in the teens the heater ran all night and we woke up to low 50s in the the cabin.
