The temp gauge for the Yanmar 3YM30 and the radio control knob for the volume on the sony stereo should be standard equipment.

I am surprised that nobody has commented on this yet. The volume control for the stereo radio has made a big, big, difference. A very inexpensive volume control from radio shack enables us to enjoy the stereo in the cockpit, but gives us the ability to turn it down if we need to listen to the marine radio or talk. Also, the temp guage enables us to know what temp we have at every rpm and know that we are running safe before the larm can go off. Since the heat exchanger was fxed, we have no diesel odor.

okay, I'll comment

Hunter really could do better with some of the installed engine panels. In addition to a water temp gauge, I had an oil pressure gauge, and an hour meter installed too (Hunter 356). Your surprise I think is echoed by other owners who were facing similar equipment shortages. The Glenn Henderson H33 is a nice looking boat, and its interior is much larger than the 33 size indicates. What kind of sailing do you do?

Sailing

We did get an hour meter, although it is a bit difficult to read,( we had to really look for it) and it is easier to see at night when the light is on. It is located in the tach. We are located on Lake Ponchartrain and although we have no depth problems on the lake, we do have to contend with numerous crab traps. Also, there are several deaw bridges(Hwy 11 across the lake and the causeway 26 mile span across the lake. We can also slip through the rigoles (two more draw bridges) and be in the Mississippi Sound and head to Gulfport,Ship Island, Biloxi, Mobile and Florida. It is about a 4 hour trip to New Orleans from our marina in Slidell.

Questions about your heat gage

John, I replied to another post of yours regarding your temperature gage. Can you tell us (me) what gage you installed? I assume it fit into the existing panel. I hope you share your ..secrets.. Thanks Michael

The volume control too....

Putting a cockpit control for volume has been on my list almost since I took delivery of my H33 last June. I was thinking of putting it right up on the sound bar itself where I imagined the access to the speaker wires would be easiest. I see you put yours on the engine panel. Did you do it or did you have it done. If you did it where the speaker wires right there or did you have to fish them out? Also you you said you used a standard volume control from the Shack. Are you worried about corrosion or did you take steps to protect it?

Radio control knob

Our Yanmar dealer installed the radio control knob (white knob in picture on the engine control panel with the tach and temp guage). Since it is actually inside the boat(reverse side of engine panel) with the knob inside the plexiglass, I hope we will not ave a problem. This was installed when the boat was recommissioned and the arch was reinstalled. However, the wires go from the arch to the navigation station above the headliner and this may be very easy to install. I will try to get the answers to some of the specifics from our Dealer. (everything is slow - as far as getting info - better slow than never)
