Looking to replace and move the location of the heat exchanger on my M25XP to a larger exchanger. Does anyone know where I can find one?
There are many aftermarket 3" heat exchangers but the location should not need to be moved. The existing bracket can be carefully bent and re-used with some AWAB hose clamps and some silicone gasket materials between the HX and bracket.Looking to replace and move the location of the heat exchanger on my M25XP to a larger exchanger. The heat exchanger can be bought at Torrenson Marine.Maine Sail said:There are many aftermarket 3" heat exchangers but the location should not need to be moved. I often buy them from Mr. Cool, (often made by Seakamp)... Be sure to check your "upgraded" part number and cross reference it to the Mr. Cool number. They sell high quality HX's for a LOT less than Westerbeke.......

There is also Lenco Coolers and a few others that escape me right now.....
We are planning on our retirement and living abord in much warmer waters and I don't want to run into an overheating problem.Hi Joe,
I'm curious why you feel you need a larger HX? I have an 86 O'day 35 and my boat came with a 3" HX and it never runs hotter than 190, even during the summer and when I'm motoring at 6 kts.
Two years ago I did remove my HX and had it cleaned out at a radiator shop. There was a decent amount of scaling in there before and it came back like new. The price was $50 and was well worth it.
