I have removed the heat exchanger from my Yanmar 3QM30. Can anyone recommend where I should take it in the San Francisco Bay area, East Bay, for cleaning and testing?

Thanks,

One of the industrial heat exchanger shops in the area might be worth looking into. Back when ExxMob had the refinery in Benicia, there were a few shops who would do small tubes.. and small bundles.. A radiator shop might be cheaper..unless you need new tubes

John:

The HX on my 2QM20 is external to the engine. Leaked when I bought the boat in 2007. The local Yanmar dealer in Sausalito recommended Mill Valley Auto Radiator which is actually located just of 101 in Corte Madera. Just across the bridge from Richmond. At first glance, the mechanic thought mine couldn't be repaired, but on our joint close inspection we/he saw a way. He did the work while I waited between about 8:00 PM on a week night. The HX has been functioning fine ever since. Here is a URL with contact information. I am sure that radiator shops in the East Bay can do the same. Maybe call your Yanmar parts shop and ask for a reference.
