Heat Exchanger on Yanmar

Liberty is a 1981 H33 used for sailing the fresh waters of Lake Ontario. I hope to retire some day, and sail her down the Inter-Coastal Waterway. Has anybody installed a heat exchanger kit on their Yanmar 2GM? If so, please post your experiences in doing so, and the location where the kit was purchased. Thanks, Ken Palmer, S/V Liberty

Ken: Have not done this but I would suggest that you contact Mack Boring about your questions. They are the experts in your area and have the parts too.

heat exchanger

I have the 2gmf and a few years ago needed to clean up the the internal heat exchanger on the top of the engine. I got new gaskets (front and back from Mack Boring). removed the cover cap on the exchanger and slid out the cylinder with all the tubing. Cleaned the unit up and replaced. Don't remember anything speacial about it but ask Mack boring when you buy the gaskets. Jim McCue
