Hi List, I have enterd into an agreement to buy an '87 H31, contingent upon the usual inspections. Had the motor checked today. There are a number of issues but the 2 biggest concerned the motor mounts and the heat exchanger. The HE is very dirty and appeared to have no antifreeze in the coolant at all. The mechanic stated that the HE can be dissasembled and cleaned but sometimes they are so corroded that a new one is the best way to go. He also said that the motor mounts were nearing the end of there useful life and should be replaced. A quick look through the archives turned up nothing on these 2 topics. Has anyone done either of these jobs themselves? How difficult was it? Is there any chance that the heat exchanger can be cleaned/flushed in-place? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.
