headstay length

I have an older (76-78) O'day fin keeled I need the pin to pin dimension for the headstay. i'm having a new stay made and I'm not sure what the yard did with the old one.

Headstay length - measured

Tom,Sorry for the delay - the weather hasn't been great, so I finally laid out the forestay in the house. The "pin to pin" measurement is 35' 5 1/4". This includes a 5 1/2" turnbuckle which could increase the length by 1 3/4", or shorten it by 2 5/8".(at its current adjustment) If my math is correct, this gives my stay a 36' 2 7/8" to 36' 8" range of length.Just a minor disclaimer. I have never had this stay mounted on the boat, but the previous owner claims to have used it. CORRECTED LENGTH

Tom,I was re-reading my post and realized that I fat-fingered one of the measurements. The total pin-pin length is 36' 5 1/4". The other two measurements are correct. I also left a message with your sailing buddy, Al, on his e-mail account.Sorry for the confusion.Dan
