last year we lost the clevis for the headstay, my wife could not find a stainless one and bought a galvanized pin in time to have the stick stepped. do i need to worry about this? or should i have it changed? regards, mike

Hi there, Let's see, galvanized steel is stronger and more fatigue-resistant than stainless, but galvanic action trumps these virtues. Get that thing out of there — if you still can — and put in a stainless pin. Since this is a headstay pin, be sure to take every possible precaution before pulling that pin.
