New owner of an 81 O'Day 28 and plan to add a headsail furling system. Any recommendations of specific systems/models. Thanks

Furling Systems

I recently installed a Harken system to my O'Day 28. I checked with my marinia rigger and asked him what system he repairs the least. He told me Harken was the best and shaffer was second.I installed it myself and found it to be fairly easy The system has worked well with the only problem I had was the spool slipped apart and had to be retighten.Good Luck

Harken Furling System

I also installed a Harken furling system on my O'Day 25 and I'm quite happy with it. I love not having to crawl around on a pitching fore deck to subdue a flogging genoa anymore. Someone had suggested I look at the CDI furling system, but I thought messing with it's one-piece foil would be problematic, and it's cost wasn't that much less than the Harken. Harken's installation book was great. A rigger's advice or help with re-terminating the forestay is advised.
