what make or model head did catalina use in 1986? was it standard on all of their boats? Can,t find any ID Plates and want to buy a rebuild kit. Thanks

My head
is a groco ,its in a 1988 C 30.Mine needs to be rebuilt and the seet is broken and its stained up a little , its just looking old. Ive been thinking of replaceing it.Ive seen a few that will fit but I have not goten around to replaceing it.They sell a rebuild kit for 30 bucks or so but ive only replaced the rubber O rings and i just get them from a service star harware store. John

On our C34s here in the Bay area, I've seen many different brands on 1986 era boats, including Groco, Jabsco and we have a Wilcox Crittendon Head Mate. The Head Mate is better than the Groco or Jabsco, both of which are relatively useless. Peggie recommends the Raritan PHII as the very best unit if you're switching heads.

I gave the guys over at Catalina Direct Tech. a call and mentions there are no ID Tags or numbers to be found . They said this is quite common and those that came with stickers more than likely would have fallen off. End result is they brought me thru their on line Cat. and they have a couple of blowups I was able to download and IDed my head as a Groco. Thanks much for the replys
