Headroom

Greetings from Iceland

We are looking at boats and have found lots of info about
the Vega but we haven't got to look at one yet. Can someone
out there tell us what the headroom is in the cabin. What is
space like generally?

Is anyone able/prepared to compare the Vega with the
Contessa 26?

I am your height. You have to duck going into the forward cabin but headroom
is pretty good otherwise. The boat is a dream, sails beautifully and is very
well made.

Almost. I am 5'9" and can touch the overhead with the top of my head. At 5'10" you won't bump your head, but might have to bend slightly.

You must wear shoes aboard Scott. I was "Officially" 5'10.5" when I was in the Army (20 years ago) and I can stand erect in the main cabin with no difficulty; barefoot and crewcut. I've been living aboard 12 years now. There are probably slight variances, boat-to-boat.

just got a flyer in the mail from
thesailwarehouse.com. Looked like
they had some pretty good prices on new and used
sails, and island
nautical dodgers, and roller furlings too.

anybody have any experience with them?other than that, don't know a thing about them.

FYI

did a little research today and found the following:

Heater Craft Cabin Heaters can be found at both West
Marine and
Defender Industries. Defender is about $15.00 less on
the price, at
about 189.00 us dollars. the units use the heat from
the engine.
Near as I could tell, Sailnet did not have any
similiar units.Isotherm makes a Isotemp hot water heater that uses
both engine and
electricity to heat potable hot water. great-water.com
is the
website for the importer. Defender industries has the
newest units
called the Basic for about $349.00. Isotherm makes
refridgeration
units and watermaters too.

a guy on ebay has 3 units on dutch auction starting at
$325.00.

Sailnet has the Seaward line of hotwater heaters, with
a broad range
of prices and sizes, using engine heat too.
