There is a problem with our head. There appears to be a vacum leak along the lines somewhere. At least that is my guess. There is no suction when you try to empty the bowl. Any ideas what to do or where to start ??? Appreciate any help you have to offer.

Or

As I said if you just have a standard head then ignore that other post. Vacuum was the operating word in your post. Cheers

What's the make/model/age of the toilet?

Or, if you don't know... Is it manual or electric? How do think it's supposed to work? Without that information, attempting to trouble shoot it would be only a scattershot of guesses that may or may not have anything to do with your toilet.

Re: type head

It is manual. When full it is suppose to pump out with the handle in the "dry" bowl position. This is not always the case. Also you can not pull in water when in the handle is in the "wet" position. I appreciate the help, and if the model is imparative I will check and askt again when I can get the info. Thanks again for the attempt, and will be back with info later if need be. Don

Sounds like you may have a couple of problems

Ok, we're getting there. Can you take a photo of the toilet--one that shows the PUMP assembly (all bowls look alike, so minimize it in your photo)... What's the age of your boat? And do you know if the toilet is original? I have a couple of guesses, but till I know more, I'll wait to give any advice. Meanwhile, you might want to check out the link below...it'll take you to a comprehensive "marine toilets and holding tanks 101" manual that'll help you learn to maintain your system after we figure out how to get it working the way it should.
