If I close the inline valve to the head and have the head set on Dry bowl when I leave for the week and when I come back the next weekend and it's full, does that mean the valve isn't working as it's suppose to?

But for the bowl to fill up from the intake thru-hull would require two failures--a leaking seacock (which is what I'm assuming you mean by "inline valve") and a failed wet/dry valve in the toilet...unlikely, but not impossible. If there's a vented loop in the head intake, it's more likely that only the wet/dry valve is leaking...allowing water in the line between the top of the loop and the bowl to drain into the bowl. The cure: pump the head long enough after you've closed the intake seacock to clear the water out of the line. Another possibility... If there's a vented loop in your toilet discharge line, water left sitting in the line between the toilet and the top of the loop may running back down into the bowl. The cure: pump long enough in the dry mode to push all the water over the top of the loop--which you should do each time you flush anyway...and replace the joker valve if it hasn't been replaced in at least two years. Or, both could be happening. Or...if the water is dirty and you're finding that your holding tank is also full, the cure for that is: close the tank overboard discharge thru-hull when you leave the boat.
