I have a Rhodes 22 that lost it's heasail. The headsail fit over a tube that spun on the head stay and had a drum attached to its bottom. Part of the drum was also missing so I have tried to rig the head sail and furler from a 1975 Macgregor 25 onto the boat. I tried simply replacing the headstay with the Mac head sail and furtler assembly, but it doesn't spin right without a stay next to it running through the offset hank piece at the top of the sail, at its swivel. Here my questions: Anyone have pics of the deck area attachment of the Mac 25 head sail. It seems that there must be 2 mounting points on the deck, 1 for the head stay, and 1 for the head sail? Otherwise, how does one mount the bottom of the drum to the same point as the head stay without the drum getting in the way of the stay.I think I will put the original head stay without it's tube back on my Rhodes, then hank on the top of the Mac sail and pull it up with the halyard, but how and where should it's bottom attach to the deck? Any pics or ideas would be great. Thanks, gearydesign@gmail.com
