Am looking at a 1972 22 O'day. What should the head room be ? The one that I may look at has a fixed keel, what will the draft be ? Anything special I should be aware of.

Not sure of the headroom, but draft of a 1972 O'DAY 22 will be 1'11" according to the O'DAY specs.
These stubby keel O'Day 22s are nice looking boats and very popular in their day but if you want better upwind performance in this O'Day model you would be wise to find one with a keel/centerboard.

Every O'DAY 22 that I've seen had either the 1'11" fixed-keel or the 1'3" bd up draft K/CB. Are you sure that a Previous owner didn't add on to the keel?
