A couple of months ago I inquired about parts for my Mansfield 751 head. After lots of conversation the best advice was replace the whole head unit. Does anyone know which companies bolt hole patterns or models for securing the head to the deck will match my existing.

new head

Head replacement sounds like a good idea, since it is not a whole lot more than a thorough repair. It also gives you the opportunity to clean-up. I have an ITT/PARR manual head in my 85 H 31. You might check with the Head Mistress as well. Tim

Don't think any two are alike.

Sandy: I don't think any two are alike unless they happen to be from the same mfg. I have had 3 and they are always slightly different. I usually try to reuse as many of the existing holes as possible and drill the new ones as required. Once every thing fits, I just use some caulking and fill the new and old holes up. This keeps water from getting into the platform and prevents potential rot.

There isn't current model head on the planet

that matches the mounting bolt pattern of any 15-20 year old toilet...not even those made by the same mfr. It's even hard to get a match after 4 or 5 years, 'cuz styling changes. All you can do is pick the head you like best and use the holes you can. However, FILL *all* the holes first. That insures that the new lag bolts will get a good a bite, so your toilet won't wobble.
