Does anyone know of a good glue to use on installing headliner or carpet in a sailboat. Thanks Sharlene

Glue for you

I tried the 3m products and found that they could not hold the wieght of the heavy duty fabric used as a wall liner. An unconventional but susseful alternative was liquid nails. It comes in a caulking tube or 1 qt can. It cleans up with wd 40 (for smill blobs) or paint thiner. It's thick like toothpaste so I put in on the wall with a small trowel. It stays where you put it. Make sure that you cneck for blead through on the fabric and for any interaction with carpet backing.

3M spray adhesive

I just remodeled and replaced my carpeted sidewalls last month using 3M Super 99 (I'm pretty sure that was the name) and it is working just fine. I sprayed as directed on both parts just like contact cement, and I think you would really have to work at removing it. The carpet I used was a marine grade backed outdoor carpet. Heavier than original Hunter 34.
