Head Lighting

I have two wires entering the ceiling of the head on my boat just above the mirror. I thought they might be there for a fluorescent light which had been removed. I installed a new DC light today and no power. I had DC main on, lights on and turned to battery one which is good - nothing. These are actually four wires. Two are light gray twisted together and two are black twisted together. They come right out of the ceiling. Anyone know what these are and why I have no power? Thanks, Greg W "SlipAway"

The lights are wired in a string.

Greg: The lights are wired in a string (like the old christmas lights). You may want to check the other overhead light in the head and see if those connection are made good. Just work your way aft and check each fixture out.

Head Wires

The other head twisty light works. When I acquired this boat, the wires above the mirror were there just hanging. I assumed they were for a second light (I thought probably fluorescent), but maybe they are for something other than a light (I just don't know). Any other thoughts! Greg W.

Yes there was a fluorescent

Greg: Yes there was a fluorescent above the mirror. I had the same problem with mine. I think I sold the boat before I resolved that problem.
