No easy way..... except....

There is no easy way to change the hoses on the H'31. The passages for the hose are very tight. This may be the time to hire someone to do it for you. It is a once every 10-15 year event that this need to be done. Bite the bullet and pay someone else to do it. I would guess that that it is probably an 8 hr. job.

Head Hose

I did mine on my H31 this summer. I made some changes in the whole system so I had to add some runs and a few elbows. I am glad that the few days I went there to do the job my neighbours weren't at their boats cause there was a heck of alot of %#!@(*#&%#& going on. After all is said and done the job took probably close to 15 hours and a tonne of frustration. That said, it was rewarding to have it done and to know that I conquered the beast. Dave

If you decide to do it yourself....advice....

Just finished mine too....84 H31. First, you should order Peggie's book. Then search the archives under Peggie's forum which is under....Message boards:Expert Forums: Make sure you order the OdorSafe (i think it's called) hose which is far superior to any other, and for the same price as the cheap stuff you'll find locally....I think I paid $5/ft. and used about 25 ft. DON'T BUY THE GREY FITTINGS AT THE HARDWARE STORE WHICH LOOK LIKE THEY FIT, cause they don't. Get the fittings from the vendor Peggie recommends. I re-routed some lines and it's much simpler and has all the same functions as before....and no odor. You will knock all the bark off your elbows and knuckles, but just hang with it and it's not quite as bad as you'll think.
