Head holding tank trouble...

Is there anyone out there who has had to remove their head holding tank in a Catalina 27 (76 dinette set up, dinette settees and table to starboard, galley to port amidships? Holding tank is under the forward dinette settee.) It looks like mine will have to be removed to repair a leak or be replaced. It also looks like it may or may not be able to be removed without cutting the settee. The tank is definitely longer and wider than the opening but it appears it is just slightly shorter. Any advice/help, or info I should be aware of before starting this task would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lysle

Holding tank replacement

Lysle-My 78 Cat27 has had the holding tank removed and replaced with bladder(V shaped).This was done by P/O because of fibreglass cracking , small leakage but odor problems were bad. I didn't hear that it was a big problem to remove old tank, but there is a smaller capacity now (about 12 gal.) A Y valve is installed for pump out. Seems a to be a good system for my purposes and I have had no problems.
