Gordon: Is there any kind of compound to use between a new head gasket and the block on a Yanmar 3GMD engine? I am in the process of rebuilding my engine and am ready for the installation of the head. Thanks, Ernie
Yanmar recommends coating both sides of the gasket with their Three Bond 50. Although I am supposed to stay with Yanmar products, in a pinch something like Permatex Super 300 would do. Our mechanics have used the Yanmar products and claim that they are easier to work with.
