The faucet in our 1985 Catalina 30 leaks from under its base onto the counter, which can then run into the v-berth area.

Any ideas? Are these faucets use the same parts as house-hold ones? This one is original and is the combination sink faucet/shower head type.

Mostly you can use standard stuff from Depot or Lowes and get better quality stuff .. measure carefully.. This is a new one I put in the head.. It is a normal Moen .. much better stuff than the typical plastic RV/marine stuff

I used a single-hole household faucet from home depot. Works fine. No corrosion. Was easy to change out.

The RV ones suck like an electrolux.

Replaced original with a cheap ($28) one from Home Despot. Gave up the shower function for now. Upon looking, the original had cracked at the internal elbow for the shower, and the diverter was stuck in a partially position allowing some water to leak out. I could have repaired the elbow in original with some plumbers epoxy, but I broke the diverter handle trying to get it out. I think there is a clip on the bottom of the faucet that will release the diverter handle. As an exercise, I may try to fix it anyway, but that is for a rainy day when I'm bored...

For those that have adapted a household facet. How did you connect the water supply hose to the facet since the connections are different.

Connections on mine were the same but you can buy the necessary fittings at any plumbing supply place.. big box or Ace..

Even the original plastic faucet had threaded 1/2" connectors. A PVC coupler was used with a screw in nipple to allow the hoses to be connected. I just reused them on the new faucet.
