Head counter top

Any body replace the counter top in the Head on their 28.5? Looking for reconmedations or short cuts.

Same dilemma

John: I have the same dilemma. The counter top in the head on our '85 H'31 is very small. I am thinking about going to a shop that sell Corian and having them make one for me. I think that the top is small enough that they may have a scrap to make it out of.

Cover with formica (1/8 inch thick) bought at home depot if the plywood is sound. I did and it looks great. You must remove the fiddle and the sink and faucet. Also should re-inforce fiddle(1X1 inch teak along backside of fiddle) when re-installing as only screwed into endgrain originally--weak. If plywood is bad, you could try saturating with thin epoxy to get some strength back.
