Other than banging my head on it, has anyone discovered a POSITIVE use for the shelf over the sink in a 320 ? We've had our 320 about 5 weeks and other then holding some bannanas it's been a pain in the forehead. The admiral has pondered having crew (me) remove it.

Lotsa people starting adding them. The C30s were the frist, many, many years ago. The C34 Mark IIs came with the shelf as standard. Some folks like 'em, some folks hate 'em. A friend actually gave me a pattern for one that he installed on his C34 Mark I, like my boat. We never did install it. We like the "open" feel.

Your boat, your choice.

I thought that bananas on a boat was bad luck!

I think it is intended to hold wineglasses, so that soon-to-be admirals all over the boatshow world will exclaim, "Ooh! A wineglass holder!" (Of course, at 30 degrees those wineglasses might be launched.)

It follows the same ingenious marketing theory behind how a $300 washer\dryer in a nifty closet will sell a $700,000 boat. The $500,000 boat at the same boat show with no washer\dryer? Still at the sales dock.
