Need soem tips on heavy duty deck cleaning. This boat has been sitting out for 5 years. It has a hard growth on it. Haven't hit it with the power washer yet. Anyone been there before? How narrow a tip do I dare use on the power washer? Thanks

HP wash

I took mine to a car wash last year to get years of grime out of the deck. It didn't seem to matter how powerful or close I got with the nozzle. The dirt came out, and left the fg and gelcoat behind and in good shape. I did not get any lifting whatsoever. Another way to look at it, is that if it does lift anything off of the gelcoat or paint, it should need cosmetic attention anyway.

Go to the car wash

I picked up a AMF sunbird for $500.00 took it to the power wash spent about $10.00 in change cleaning the boat and trailer. 3 or 4 weeks later I sold the boat to a guy that was happy to give me $1,000.00 for it. I plan to take my Mariner to the power wash soon to get all the winter dirt off it. Even under cover the boat gets dirty. I've used the car wash sprayer on ever boat I've owned and never have had a problem of any kind.
