We ARE new owners of an 85 cat 25, our friends say everything works....and as they are staying on the boat with us in a month.....I figure given our opportunity h them overboard...would make it likely that everything should work...It says we need to have our thru hull fitting closed to use our head? Its closed but it dosn't seem to matter how we have our pump handle it dosn't seem to pump does it need priming of some kind?? It says to flush you move the lever and pump? How does the toilet get the water for flushing? Perhaps we are dumb??? Thanks Spoty The head sink hand pump works great galley one dosnt work...

basic head operation

There are usually two positions in which you can use the pump handle. One is dry bowl position, the other is wet bowl. If you chose wet bowl to pump, the sea cock must be open to bring in water. It won't pump with the sea cock closed, due to the vacuum created. Try pumping it on the dry bowl position.
