Was out this past Sunday and went to re-start the engine which did a bit of a grunt before turning over and catching.
Checked my batteries and found each needed one-half gallon of distilled water to top off. Batteries went into service April 2006.
When I put them back in the boat this spring (yes, i still pull them and take them home to put on trickle charge) they were full.
Now, on a Hunter 30 1979 they are on a shelf, accessable by laying in the quarter berth.
Question- has anyone moved theirs and where did they put them to make them more accesable during the season to check the fluid level?
Thanks
Ian

FWIW - Bought my '82 H30 just a few months ago and my two batteries are located under the forward end of the quarter berth (port side) such that they're under my rear end if I'm sitting at the chart table. They are strapped down securly and have ridden well under heel angles to 25 deg plus.
