My Wish for 2002 Christmas

Dear Santa, I would like more water in my lake (Lake Thurmond @ Clarks Hill, GA) to sail in so I do not damage my new sailboat. Also, I want wisdom to be a better skipper & time to put it to good use. Happy Holidays & Safe Sailing to all & to all a good year...HO! HO! HO! Jim 'TIKI' Hunter 146

Oasis' Christmas List

My 1972 Pearson 33 asked me to write to Santa, with her list. She wants a new roller furling 155% Genoa; the repair on her deck done on time, and a racing bottom smooth as a baby's behind. Her last wish is strong winds and a nice chop on the Chesapeake Bay all of next year. Thank you Santa! Luv Oasis

Where do I start...???

Oh, this is easy....a new Simrad AP30, 2-75 watt solar panels to sit atop the new dodger, REFRIGERATION!!!, Bosch on-demand hot water, a 30 gal. fuel tank, another water tank on the port side, and a watermaker, a new suit of sails, and TIME....that's not asking too much, is it? Our h30, Aloha 1 has been very good this year, and we know she would appreciate her share of "toys"... For all of our friends at Hunterowners.com, we wish health, prosperity, and fairwinds...

A sound ship and a star to stear her by

All I want is a sound ship . . .and I may follow the North Star. Wow, wouldn't a Christmas eve sail be fantastic! I'd just pick the brightest star! Oh, but Santa would have to make my little boat sound. The mast is broke, or would be if I use it as it is now. I need to have a small piece welded into my mast and since I can't find it, (a bushing) if Santa could bring it to me I'd be the happiest girl on Christmas Oday. Come on Santa ! How many other girls are asking for something only 2 inches long? It's not a lot to ask . .. . . . you guys have been at sea too long, that wasn't dirty! :) HO HO HO

Santa - give me the sea please

Judy's post reminded me of the Masefield poem I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and sky And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by, And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the sails shaking, And the grey mist on the sea's face and the grey dawn breaking. I must go down the seas again, for the call of the running tide Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied, And all Isk is a windy day with the white clouds flying, And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea gulls crying. I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life, To the gull's way and the whale's way where the wind's like a wetted knife; And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow rover, And a quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over - That's what I want

Lots of wishes...

For my 2 daughters in college, I like them to get a couple of Grants. For my wife, who holds a black belt in shopping, a nice lottery winning and sales, sales, sales. For myself, my continued every other weekend with my boat, whether sailing or puttering. And to you all, Peace and Goodwill towards our fellow Man.
