You may remember pictures I posted of the bow on my 260 with a crack just below the hull/deck join. After stripping out the hoses up in the bow section we were able to glass the hull to the deck from inside. All that seemed to holding it together was a "lot" of putty like material. We got rid of all of that and then sanded up the glass. Having got the surface clean we then layed up strips of glass effectively bonding the hull to the deck. Running from right up high where the bow stem bolts come thru then on down the inside of the hull, about eight inches. It was not really a hard or difficult job at all. Just took a fair bit of time to make sure the job was done right in the first attempt. The result being that there is now no flex in the bow when the forestay is wound up. I guess most importatly is that there is absolutly no chance at all of this happening again. Means I can sail her with confidence knowing that the mast is not going to come down on us. I have contacted Hunter to obtain the upgrade kit that consists of several bolts to further strengthen the hull deck join. As usual the customer service from Hunter was simply "perfect". They certainly are a great company to deal with!
