Have i the correct Engine for my 26X?

I wonder if you can help me. I have just purchased a new Macgregor 26X fromthe Dutch Agent Combinautic in Holland. They have supplied me with a Yamaha F50AETand a standard 13-G prop. Is this the correct engine to use as I am havingbig problems getting the boat to do more than 9 knots because the propcavitates when the engine speed reaches 3250 rpm ! I seem to have a bigproblem.Your advice please.

OB on 26x

John,I have a 3yr old 26X with a Yamaha 50BETL and a 13-5/8x13K prop, when boat was new without the load I carry today I was getting up to 20kts. Today with lots of extra weight like an inflatable and motor onboard I regularly get 17kts at WOT and cruise at 12kts no problem.Try checking with BHG Marine at Bucklers Hard, they supplied and fitted my motor and supply most of the OB's on the UK supplied MacGregor International boats.
